Our office is located in Bertamiráns, a town belonging to the municipality of Ames which is part of the picturesque valley of A Mahía. Only 10km from Santiago de Compostela and 25 km from the beaches of Noia and Muros, it’s a wonderful example of the beautiful Galician countryside.
ENVIRONMENT
Galicia is a paradise which combines impressive cliffs (Costa da Morte), inviting beaches (San Xenxo), woods that date back hundreds of years and rugged hills (O Courel, Piornedo) constantly watered by the many rivers which led Alvaro Cunqueiro to name it the “The Land of a Thousand Rivers”.
There is an extraordinary contrast between the "Rias Altas", with beautiful fishing towns, the "Rias Baixas", with their unique nature reserves ("the Nature Reserve of the Atlantic Isles") and their bathing resorts of warm waters and the inland (Ourense, Ribeira Sacra) where agriculture and vineyards are very important.
All along the countryside. visitors can find remnants of our Celtic heritage, of which the so-called "castros" (forts) are examples, as well as remains of Romanesque art in the form of mills, hermitages and bridges that enrich our homeland and transport us back to a time of magic and splendour.
At the same time, we have industrial cities like Vigo and Pontevedra and tourist ones like La Coruña and Lugo, and the city of pilgrimage and shelter: Santiago de Compostela, considered a "World Heritage Site".
